THE INITIAL PHASE

In the initial planning phase, we will consult with school district decision makers, your construction management firm if applicable, architects and/or contractors to first determine the scope of the project – Elementary, Middle School, Intermediate School or High School. Is this a new school or renovation? How many students will the project accommodate? What style of furniture has been used in the past? Does the customer want to continue using this style of furniture or would more contemporary or eco-friendly furniture be a consideration? In these meetings, we will determine what is expected such as specific needs for grade levels, any special requirements and the timeline for the project.




Planning Phase

ROOM-BY-ROOM ANALYSIS

After this preliminary analysis and working with the architectural drawings of your project, your PlanSpec™ Coordinator will conduct a thorough room-by-room analysis to compile a complete list of products typically included in a project such as yours. Your Educator’s Depot representative and your PlanSpec™ Coordinator working closely with members of your building committee or others defined by the school district, will define this list resulting in a comprehensive list of furniture, equipment and supplies designed to uniquely meet your needs. Throughout this process you will continually be provided with budgetary pricing so you can be assured that your project will fall within your budget parameters. Revisions are made as required.

 

THE EXTRA STEP

Other vendors would like to see you furnish your new facility with all new furniture and equipment. At Educator's Depot, we take a more practical approach by examining your existing furniture to determine what can be used on your new project should you so choose. Once your list of furnishings has been finalized, we'll provide you with an amortization schedule on existing furnishings so you can plan for future replacements in an orderly manner.


THE ORDERING PROCESS

PlanSpec™ has been approved by the Texas Association of School Boards Cooperative Purchasing (BuyBoard) and is offered to members under Contract #262-07. Your complete project can be purchased utilizing this contract which eliminates the need for your school district to go through the arduous process of issuing a bid. By utilizing this contract through the BuyBoard, you are assured of meeting all State of Texas bidding requirements and getting the best value. We are also an approved vendor with the Harris County Department of Education and multiple Education Service Center Purchasing Cooperatives.

Should you require going through the bid process, we will provide you with bid documents to include any bid conditions required by your district, specifications which will allow all bidders to fully understand what features and requirements you expect, provisions for alternate bids, and a comprehensive recap and bid analysis if requested.







THE PlanSpec™ DIFFERENCE

Placing your order through the BuyBoard is the easiest way to get the furniture and equipment for your project delivered and installed in a timely manner. It couldn't be simpler. You place one order with one vendor. After that, Educator’s Depot handles the rest – coordination and receipt of all deliveries, unloading of all trucks, and installation by manufacturer trained professional installers and removal of all packaging materials. Any required change orders are clearly documented and tracked. All necessary field checks are scheduled and any required submittals are provided by Educator’s Depot.

We place your furniture and equipment in the precise location previously specified by you. Something arrived damaged? No problem – we handle all freight claims. No school district personnel are required on the jobsite. After installation, we provide a complete punch list of each room in your project plus a complete inventory binder which facilitates future tracking of your project’s furnishings and allows for easy replacement when and if necessary.
